The Honorable Supreme Court of Liberia, now has a new Court Administrator, his name is Cllr. William B. Kollie, Sr. He was appointed by His Excellency Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. President of the Republic of Liberia, on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Cllr. Kollie’s appointment by the President filled in the vacancy created after the honorable retirement of Cllr. Elizabeth J. Nelson, an astute state woman and public servant leader.
The Office of the Court Administrator was created as the administrative arm of the entire court system, with primary objective to organize and manage non-adjudicatory matters under the direction of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.

The Vice President of the Republic of Liberia Honorable Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Sr., at the seating ceremony of the Chief Justice and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court has called for collective effort of the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary to safeguard the independence of the Honorable Supreme Court.

The Judiciary Branch of Liberia has strongly reacted to a statement issued by the President of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) on August 15, 2025, terming said statement, which accuses the courts in Rivercess County, particularly the Yarpah Town and Cestos City Magisterial Courts, of a “coordinated legal campaign aimed at harassing, intimidating and silencing journalists” in that county as reckless, ill-informed and misguided.

The National Association of Trial Judges of Liberia (NATJL) will convene its tenth (10th) National Trial Judges Conference from February 1-3, 2024 at the grounds of the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
The conference will be held under the theme: “The Judiciary & Democracy; Safeguarding Democratic Values in the Legal System, Especial During and After Elections.”

Judge Ousman F. Feika of the Resident Circuit Judge of the Fifth Judicial Circuit, Grand Cape Mount County, currently presiding over the Sixth Judicial Circuit Civil Law Court of Montserrado County as the Assigned Judge, and chairman of the conference planning committee, said the conference is a little different from previous years because this year’s conference will be conducted with a seminar.

The Supreme Court of Liberia condemns, in the strongest term, the protest attack on the home of the Resident Judge of Grand Gedeh County His Honor George S.
Wiles Jr. intending to cause harm to persons living within the house and damage to the property.

On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, some citizens of Grand Gedeh County staged a protest action at the home of Judge Wiles demanding the unconditional release
from detention of their kinsmen (defendants) who are facing trial for multiple criminal offenses.

The Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) has conducted its 2023 annual convention in Ganta City, Nimba County with lawyers calling for the maintenance of the peace post-election through adherence to the rule of law.
The convention, held from December 7-10, 2023 brought together legal scholars, justice actors, government officials, civil society actors and members of the diplomatic corps.
