I am pleased, on behalf of my esteemed Colleagues of the Supreme Court Bench, to welcome all of you to this ceremony marking the formal opening of the March 2021 Term of this Court.
On February 19, 2013, Manna Roger K. Martin, the movant herein filed an action of ejectment before the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Civil Law Court, Montserrado County against Sheik Jalloh, and others under his authority, the respondents herein.
Our Constitution, at Article 20(b) accords aggrieved parties the right to appeal the judgments and\or decisions from courts of record to the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court has continuously upheld the sanctity of that right in its many decisions and judgments.
The laws governing appeal are settled in this jurisdiction. Accordingly, when a motion to dismiss appeal is entertained before this Court, the only inquiry the Bench makes is whether there are any violations of these settled laws.
These proceedings constitute an aspect of litigation relating to a debt action pending before the Commercial Court of Liberia
The certified records establish that there is one common and core contention of the parties to the present appeal which centers on use and the right of entitlement to the trademark of a commodity for the purpose of its sale and distribution on the Liberian market.

Kolleh, the appellee herein, lodged a complaint before the Ministry of Labour against the Management of Firestone Liberia, Inc., the appellant herein, alleging that the appellant wrongfully dismissed him.
